Machias Savings Bank has many safeguards in place to protect your personal information from unauthorized disclosure. Recently many articles have been published about identity theft and various fraudulent scams to obtain your personal information.

In an effort to assist you in protecting your personal information please remember:

• Machias Savings Bank will never send e-mail messages that request confidential information, such as account numbers, passwords, or PINs. Please report any attempt to obtain this information to us. Suspicious e-mail can be forwarded to abuse@machiassavings.com  so we can further investigate.
• Machias Savings Bank’s Web page should never be accessed from a link unless that link is provided by a web browser. You may also access the website by directly typing in the Web site name.
• Look for a secure connection on Web sites asking for personal or account information, normally indicated by the presence of "https://" in your browser's address bar.
